Tonnes of chocolates, loads of bunnies and piles of hot cross buns.
That’s right folks unless you’ve been on holiday to the moon for a few months you’ll know it’s Easter.
A time for enjoying family traditions.
And in many cases probably putting on a few pounds over the long weekend.
Some Easter traditions around Europe raised an eyebrow or two in our office this week.
In parts of the Czech Republic and Slovakia there’s an Easter Monday morning ritual of men lightly whipping women! Apparently it’s so the women keep their health, beauty and fertility for the next year.
However the women get revenge in the afternoon by pouring buckets of freezing cold water over the men’s heads.
Closer to home it’s also traditionally a time when the property market goes up a gear as the lighter, warmer months approach.
We’ve already had a good start to the year as the local property market is very buoyant.
At Forbes Estates we can’t see anything on the horizon to change that momentum, especially with the stamp duty holiday extension and the welcome return of 95% mortgages.
Which if you’re a homeowner thinking of selling is eggscellent news (sorry couldn’t resist it).
Happy Easter, thanks for reading and if you have any property related questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us – we’d love to help you.
